So, I decided to write even though I haven't finished the assigned pages. So far the book is extremely interesting. It is cool to learn the history of the internet and all the technologies, especially since it is so interesting. The world he describes is very exciting, but I don't entirely see how it affects my current situation that much. I don't think that I am educated for such a business world. I keep thinking about 3 main things while I read it.
1. Many low-level American jobs are being out-sourced to other countries. What will the Americans who held these jobs do? He says that Americans will then be freed up to do more analytical and high value add jobs. I don't think that all Americans are educated enough, motivated enough, or interested in these jobs. Also, I don't know if it is because of lack of education and opportunity or if there is just a diversity in human talents, interests, and willingness which allow all of society's roles to be filled. But where will those people fit in a global society?
2. Our education system is grossly inadequate to prepare students to think. And relatedly, what would an appropriate education be? I think he gives his ideas later in the book, which will be interesting to read.
3. Lastly, he talks about people
